This presentation will illustrate how, since July 2008, we have been deploying Scrum and other tools to help us bring the whole organization to the next level. It will discuss challenges and rewards that come with introducing new processes and technologies to an international business.

Bio: David Segonds

David Segonds is the product development manager for Geomodeling Technology Corp., a Calgary based software vendor. Hired in July 2008, David leverages his proven experience in software engineering and team leadership to assist his organization in developing innovative solutions to understand more accurately the subsurface in order to discover, measure, and extract energy resources.

David sees his career as creating cosmos out of chaotic processes and interactions, which are inevitable components in a multicultural and intercontinental software development environment. As a leader, David is constantly seeking creative ways to foster a dynamic work environment through an ideal mix of people, process, and technology skills.

Prior to joining Geomodeling, and for fourteen years, David participated, as an undergraduate student, a software engineer, and finally a team leader to the success of the GOCAD project, a leading oil and gas 3D modeling application. A graduate of Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine in Nancy, France, David holds a PhD in Geosciences.
