Dec 5: Startups and Reality: Startup Experiences, Lean Startup and Agile development" presented by Robin Dymond
Hi CAMUG Members, are you working for a startup, thinking about working for a startup, or have a great idea and want to start your own company? How about working in a company that is trying to launch a new product? You'll be excited to hear about our December 5th session titled: "Startups and Reality: Startup Experiences, Lean Startup and Agile development" presented by Robin Dymond.
Since starting his career in 1990, Robin has been involved with various startup companies. These experiences included huge hours, large amounts of capital, strong emotions, and they were also highly educational. In the last few years the Lean Startup book and movement has become very popular in the startup community and also with large companies trying to launch new products. Agile methods such as Scrum and XP power the delivery of Lean Startup outcomes. In this talk Robin will go through his experiences and learning from 4 different startups, walk through the Lean Startup model, and compare and contrast this model with the reality of startups. He will also cover how Agile ties into the Lean Startup model and some of the advantages Agile brings to the table that are not well described in Lean Startup.
